Chinese, late 19th/early 20th century. Squared porcelain lidded fruit cooler with famille rose decoration throughout, domed lid with standing gilt foo dog at top on cornflower square surrounded by pink flowers and bats above auspicious symbol terminating on tasseled end, interior of container with removable shaped gilt liner. Lower portion of container with similar floral, bat, character and tassel motif throughout under cornflower blue and yellow lappet border, sides with applied gilt foo dog form handles (missing wire). Unmarked. Approximate height 6", width 6.25", depth 5.5".
