After Richard Caton Woodville II (American, 1856-1927). "The Taking of Badajoz", colored lithograph, pencil signed lower left "To my Great Fried Col. Spiller from his best ????, R. Caton Woodville, 30th June 1897". Lithograph depicts a scene from the siege of Badajoz, Spain in March and April of 1812 during the Napoleonic Wars in which the British finally took control of the town away from the French after weeks of siege.
