19th century oval occasional or side table with scalloped edge on bottom of top above shell knees. Table with antiqued gold/brown finish. Top of table with later (20th century) hand painted figural decoration of a quaint family with the mother seated with three children cozily bundled and her husband holding an umbrella overhead in an outdoor setting on marigold ground surrounded by gilt grape leaf, vine and grape cluster decoration. Signed lower right "M. TARTAGLIA", possibly for the artist Marino Tartaglia (Croatian 1894-1984). Height 23.5 inches, width 30.25 inches, depth 24.5 inches. Provenance: From the collection of Mr. Thomas V. and Mrs. Marie B. Patton, Atlanta, Georgia.
