Dominican Republic, carved from a single piece of Dominican golden amber, a naturally occurring insect inclusion within the amber was cleverly incorporated within an egg shape as the surrounding gecko begins to eat it, the lizards skin accurately rendered, the eyes inset with hand painted accents, together with a carved "blue" amber carving depicting a bed of eggs on which the gecko reclines, all resting on a base formed from jet with amber accents at the bottom compass points. 8.30 x 7.60 x 6.40 cm.
