Idar-Oberstein, Germany, an exquisite example of the genre, consisting of a complex and delicate rose blossom carved from deep purplish red to pinkish purple tourmaline above a five petal surround carved from dark yellowish green tourmaline supported by an 18 karat yellow gold wirework stem accented with branches extending to the deeply carved blue green tourmaline leaves, the stem embedded in a rock crystal quartz vase with yellow gold banding. Stamp: (Maker's mark EB for Eberhard Bank). Height: 16.50 cm.
