New Jersey painted pine and poplar blanket chest, ca. 1825 , with a lift lid, paneled sides, double paneled front, 2 drawers and turned feet, the panels and drawer fronts in yellow and black smoke graining, the surrounding areas in yellow and red grained surface, 28" h., 31 3/4" w., together with a hand written note inscribed "Moma gave me today my 18th birthday for my marrage chest".
