Christopher H. Shearer(American, 1840-1926) - Oil on canvas tropical landscape with central moss covered tree and exotic foliage, signed lower right "C.H. Shearer", 41 1/2" x 31 1/2". This unique example by Shearer was probably inspired by the work of his contemporary M.J. Head, as there exist no recoveds of Shearer traveling to the tropics.
