Attributable to Jaquet-Droz, Geneva, circa 1785. Very fine and rare 18 ct. gold and enamel musical repeating watch with centre seconds. White enamel, Roman chapters, outer minute dot divisions with 15-minute Arabicnumerals. Gold Breguet hands. 40.7 mm o, hinged, gilt brass back plate crescent-shaped to allow for the five bells, going barrel, cylinder escapement, plain three-arm brass balance, gilded single-footed cock pierced and engraved with asymmetrical foliage. Music on five bells with five hammers with adjustable screws for tuning, activated by depressing the pendant.Diam. 49 mm. Published in the Sandberg book, page 242-243.
