“Hummingbird” Just & Sons, London, circa 1845. Made for the Chinese market. Fine gilt brass and painted on enamel, pearl-set center-seconds watch with duplex escapement. Three-body, “Empire”, reeded band, back finely painted on enamel with bouquet of flowers and a humming-birdaround skyscape, green ground, pearl-set bezels, enameled pearl-set pendant, and bow, gilt cuvette hingedto the movement ring. White enamel, radial Roman numerals, outer minute/seconds divisions with fifteen-minute/seconds Arabic markers. Gold “spoon” hands. 48 mm (21.5’’’), fully chased and engraved, "Chinese"caliber with standing barrel, 6 jewels, ruby duplex escapement, steel three-arm balance with blued steel wings,blued steel balance-spring.Movement and cuvette signed.Diam. 58 mm.
