Purse Watch C. H. Meylan, Brassus, No. 2620, case No. 61836. Made circa 1930. Fine and elegant, platinum, diamond and ruby-set Art Deco purse watch. Four-body, brushed, rectangular, stepped with canted corners, applied with lines of diamonds and rubies, two larger marquise diamonds and four square-cut diamonds, dedicated back, opening to reveal the sprung and hinged watch case with square inclined bezel. Brushed silvered with applied white gold Breguet numerals, outer minute track. White gold Breguet hands. 22 mm., rhodium-plated, fausses cotes decoration, 17 jewels, straight line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance with three adjustments, blued steel Breguet balance-spring, index regulator. Movement signed. Dim. 40 x 30 x 7 mm.
