Thomas Hughes, London, circa 1720. Fine 20 ct. gold, pair cased, hour and half hour repeating clockwatch. Double body outer, the bezel and the edge of the back pierced and engraved with inhabited foliage and masks. Double body inner, bassine, the border pierced and engraved with inhabited foliage. Gold champleve with Roman numerals and outer Arabic minute ring. Rose-diamond set hands. GIIt brass full plate, double train, with Egyptian pillars, fusee with chain, verge escapement, plain steel three arm balance, English gilt brass cock, pierced and engraved with inhabited foliage and diamond endstone. Striking and repeating on a bell with gilt brass fixed barrel, engraved with leaf decoration. Signed on the dial and back plate. In very good condition. Diam. 57 mm.
