English, 19th century. English oak kneehole desk with shaped top inset with large green and gilt tooled leather writing surface, the recessed center with conforming drawer, the lock stamped COMYN CHING & Co, Royal Four Drawers, S Safety Lock, flanked to each side with linen fold moldings and four short drawers, all drawers but one with COMYN CHING & Co locking mechanisms (one replaced with secure lever). Each side of the desk has recessed panels and a door with concealed storage, the whole raised on simulated bamboo turned legs. Height 29.75", width 47.75", depth 26.75".
