Monnier & Rochat, Swiss, No. 6168, circa 1800. Very interesting dead centre seconds watch with calendar and special escapement. Silver gilt with reeded band and glazed back. White enamel with eccentric Arabic chapter ring, subsidiary dial for the date and outer seconds ring. Gold "poker and beetle" hands. Hinged gilt brass full plate with conical pillars, fusee with chain, Pouzait lever escapement with seconds beating extra large plain four-arm balance covering the back plate almost entirely, flat balance spring, wide gilt brass pierced cock with ruby end-stone. Signed on the dial and movement. In very good condition. Diam. 60 mm.
