Souria, 20 rue Feydeau à Paris, No. 873, circa 1830. Fine and interesting 18 ct. gold and enamel hunting cased, garnet set watch with digital jumping hours. Double body, fully chased with a floral and foliage garnet set decoration over an amati ground, the back set with a very fine painted enamel by Huaud frères ( 1700 circa) scene depicting Cleopatra and the asp. Silver engine-turned with digital hour aperture, small eccentric minute ring and off set subsidiary seconds. Blued steel minute hand. Hinged full plate with cylindrical pillars, fusee with chain, cylinder escapement, plain brass three arm balance, flat balance spring, gilt brass continental cock and polished steel end-piece. Signed on the back plate. In good condition. Diam. 42 mm. Notes Almost certainly coming from a Swiss XVllth century watch, the enamel panel set on the back of this watch is painted in the manner of the Huaud brothers.
