James Vigne, London, No. 4586, bearing the London Hallmarks for 1773. Fine 18 ct. gold and enamel watch. Double body, Louis XVI, the bezels with champleve enamelled decoration, the back with a fine painted enamelled cameo scene in the maner of Moser, of a sitting young maid against a brown ground. Outer blue champleve enamelled frame laurel and ribbon knots. Gild brass dust rim. White enamel with Roman numerals and outer Arabic minute ring. Gold Louis XVI hands. GiIt brass full plate with cylinder pillars, fusee with chain, Iater English lateral lever escapement, plain steel three arm balance, flat balance spring, gilt brass English cock and diamond end-stone. Signed on the back plate. In very good condition. Diam. 46 mm.
