Ch. Ondin, Horloger de la Marine, Palais Royal, 52, Paris, No. 18605, circa 1840. Extremely rare, 18 ct. gold "Six Pence" miniature, key wind fob watch. Four body, "bassine et filets", polished, a small monogram engraved on the back. Gold cuvette engraved with the mention of medals awarded from 1806 to 1861. White enamel with Roman numerals. blued-steel Breguet hands. Notes A similar watch vas presented to Queen Victoria. One other watch only, slightly smaller is known nowadays, but it is in poor condition. The smallest watches of the time, were named "Six Pence', on account of their miniature proportions.
