A Monsieur le Prince Gagarine Watch No. 2321, manufactured between 1807 and 1812, sent to St. Petersburg on 7 March 1812, for the sum of 1466 Francs. Gold watch with quarter-repeating. Notes History: This watch was sent to Wenham, Breguet's agent in St. Petersburg on 7 March 1812, for the sum of 1466 Francs. Sold in Russia, it was returned to Breguet in 1911 for overhaul at the request of Prince Gagarine. Note: A fine example of a première classe repeating watch with gold dial, this watch is in particularly good condition. NIKOLAI VIKTOROVITCH Prince Gagarine (1873-1925) Born 12 June 1873. Married first in June 1895 to Princess Marina (1877-1924), daughter of Prince Nikolaï Petrovitch Troubetzkoï. Second marriage in 1924 to Ekaterina Ilyinitchna lakounine, the two natural sons born before the marriage remaining unrecognised by their father and therefore without rights to his title. Prince Gagarine died on 10 May 1925.
