Gilles Martinot à Paris, circa 1690. Very fine silver, shark-skin covered, "oignon" clockwatch. Double body "oignon", covered with shark-skin, the back pierces on the edge, the inner silver gilt dial rim pierced and engraved with inhabited foliage. GiIt brass with Roman numerals on enamel cartouches, the center chased with flags, scrolls and arrows. Blued steel single hand. GiIt brass full plate with elaborated gilt brass and silver pillars, fusee and chain, verge escapement, plain three armed steel balance, fine silver large cock pierced and engraved with inhabited foliage. Hour striking on a bell, the striking train with a pierced and engraved gilt brass standing barrel and a silver count wheel on the back plate. In very good condition. Diam. 61 mm.
