Les Frères Bourne à Ferney, circa 1780. Fine 18 ct. gold paste-set watch. Double body, Louis XVI, with paste-set bezel, pendant and bow, the back with engraved decoration applied with a fine pierced paste-set floral rosette. White enamel with Roman numerals and outer Arabic minute ring . Paste-set Louis XVI hands. Hinged gilt brass full plate with cylindrical pillars, fusee with chain, verge escapement, plain brass three armed balance, flat balance spring, gilt brass continental cock with polished steel end-piece. Signed on the back plate. In good condition. Diam. 40 mm. Notes According to Ferney-Voltaire, pages d'histoire, published by the Cercle d'études Ferneysiennes, Académie Candide, page 247, Boume, Just or Jude, was born at Choronche in Dauphiné, he was active in Ferney from 1772 to 1789.
