Berthoud à Paris No. 5982, Swiss, circa 1782. Fine 18 ct. gold and enamel watch. Double body, Louis XVI, the bezels with a white leaf champleve enamelled decoration on a blue ground, the enamel back painted "en grisaille" with a scene of a lady in a garden, playing with a cupid (slightly restored). White enamel with Arabic numerals. Gold "poker and beetle" hands. Hinged gilt brass full plate with cylindrical pillars, fusee with chain, verge escapement, plain brass three armed balance, flat balance spring, gilt brass continental cock with polished steel endpiece. Signed on the dial and the back plate. In good condition. Diam. 50 mm. Notes Interessante orologio da tasca, in oro 18K e smalto.
