H. Rosselet, Chaux-de-Fonds, No. 2940, made for the American Market, circa 1860. Fine 18 ct. gold pair cased "cabriolet" watch with special escapement. Outer three body massive, "bassine", engraved with foliage, the back with a locomotive of the type used for the earliest American railways. Inner four body massive, "bassine", engraved with foliage and the back with a horse running in a landscape. Hinged gold cuvette engraved with technical details. White enamel with Roman numerals and sunk subsidiary seconds. Gold hands. Notes By reversing this watch in its outer case, it can be worn either in open-face or hunter mode.
