Condition: Toning, staining, rippling, not examined out of frame. N.B. Inocencio Jimenez Chino lives in the remote mountains of southern Mexico. He is among a group of self taught folk artists known for amate paintings, which are done on paper made from bark. Chino's work is characterized by intricate detail conveyed in a fine hand, and he often portrays activities of daily life. He is referenced in Selden Rodman's book, Artists in Tune with Their World: Masters of Popular Art in the Americas and Their Relation to the Folk Tradition , 1982.
