American School, 19th Century Country Manor with Figures Strolling the Grounds. Unsigned. Oil on wood panel, 15 1/4 x 19 1/2 in., in a molded green-painted wooden frame, the reverse of the panel retains a portion of an early printed Boston Shop label. Condition: Scattered varnish deterioration. Areas where varnish is raised and brownish colored. The paint has craquelure in some areas, mainly in the trees to the left and right of the manor. It may possibly a reaction of the paint with the varnish as it looks kind of bubbly and brownish-toned.
