Chinese Export Silver Chair-form Inkstand, late 19th/early 20th century, unmarked, the round backrest inset with a mirror, within surround formed by clusters of bats, with dragon-form armrests over two-tiered set, the rear tier chased and embossed with a dragon and sliding open to interior storage, the riser with four applied Chinese characters, the lower tier set with a pair of ovoid-lidded colorless glass-lined inkpots flanking a smaller glass pot, the sides of base with repousse decoration of figures in a processional, on four bat-form feet, ht. 6 1/2, wd. 4 5/8 in., approx. 19 troy oz. (including mirror). top of cresting possibly lacking a hook to hang a pocket watch, with the watch reserve now filled by the mirror. flake to mirror at base rim. minor bends to the sliding panel. minor overall age wear.
