Chinese Export Silver Compote, late 19th/early 20th century, the double-walled dish finely chased and embossed to top surface with shaped cartouches enclosing Chinese characters conjoined to representations of coins, and small processional figures, with dragon rim, the underside with chrysanthemums within a grapevine rim, on urn-form stem with figures and dragon masks over knop with stylized bat masks, with floral repousse concave ovoid base with leaftip rim, ht. 6 3/8, dia. 7 in., approx. 24 troy oz. underside of foot closed, and engraved with a Hanoi jewelery retailer's name. some light dings to the upper rim. spots of solder present to underside of dish at join of dish to stem (likely a compression repair).
