Four Silver and One Japanese Mixed Metal-patinated Matchsafes, late 19th/early 20th century, comprising three American: a Gorham with acanthus scrolls and leaftip, a shaped rectangular with C-scrolls and flowerheads, monogrammed, and a letter-form engraved with name, faux postmark, and with red accenting postage stamp; a Victorian "Scottish pebble" case, Birmingham, 1906, engraved with thistles and leaves, and mounted with panels of bloodstone and agate, monogrammed and date '09; and a Japanese export mixed metal patinated case finely decorated with landscape scenes on leaf ground, lg. 1 1/2 to 2 7/8 in., approx. 3 troy oz. envelope with some wear around hinge area, and light pinpoints. scottish pebble with light dings to engraved recto.
