Louis XV Provincial Oak and Fruitwood Buffet a' Deux Corps, 18th century, upper section with plain cornice and stone-inset frieze above a pair of paneled doors and a shaped apron on cabriole supports; lower section with rectangular top and case fitted with three small drawers and a pair of paneled doors, on short cabriole feet, ht. 87, wd. 49, dp. 20 in. Upper section: Cornice split to top, frieze with heavy shrinkage and stone panel; right door upper hinge broken and wood split around area; multople repairs to pinning to lower left joint just below left door; loss to shelf support on right side. Lower section: Top with long repaired shrinkage cracks with slight waviness and re-pinned joint; right door with two large shrinkage cracks; moderate worming and shrinkage to sides; small piece of apron molding missing. Age appropriate additional minor defects.
