Harry Everett Townsend (American, 1879-1941) Phyllis Signed "H Townsend-" l. l., identified on a Salmagundi Club Thumb Box Exhibition label affixed to the reverse. Oil on board, 10 1/2 x 8 1/2 in. (26.6 x 21.6 cm), framed. Condition: Craquelure with retouch, surface grime. Drying cracks primarily to u.r. quadrant; scattered craquelure, including a star crack in l.l. quadrant; light-handed dashes of retouch to grooves of drying cracks u.r., primarily to red wall in background.
