Nicolai S. Cikovsky (American, 1894-1987) Still Life with Fruit Signed "N. Cikovsky" l.r., artist identified in a later inscription on the backing. Oil on canvas, 22 1/4 x 28 in. (56.5 x 71.1 cm), framed. Condition: Lined, retouch. The lining is adhered with wax and may have a solid support between the old and new canvases. The retouch is to a vertical tear approximately 5 inches long within the teal cloth, and to a second puncture on the left edge of the grapes. The shadow in the lower left corner fluoresces, and may contain retouch. There are numerous scattered dots and dashes of retouch, especially to the background.
