Frank Albert Mechau Jr. (American, 1903-1946) Darien Lovers Signed and dated "mechau -44" l.r., titled and identified on labels affixed to the Pencil on paper, sight size 28 1/4 x 21 5/8 in. (72.0 x 55.0 cm), framed. Condition: Toning, not examined out of frame. N.B. The artist was an artist-correspondent for Life magazine during World War II, traveling to U.S. military bases in the Pacific. Darién is a province in eastern Panama. The labels on the backing include one from the Allied American Artists, New York.
