Marco Grubas (Italian, 1839-1910) Lot of Two Venetian Views of San Giorgio Maggiore, Saint Mark's Square and Palazzo Santa Sofia, c. 1890 Signed "M. Grubas" l.l., identified on labels and export stamped "...zum Ausfuhr freigegeben" on the reverse. Oil on panel, 5 1/2 x 10 1/4 in. (14.0 x 26.0 cm), framed. Condition: Surface grime. Both unvarnished, one (view of Doge's palace from the water) with 1/4 in. scratch in sky with 1/16 in. paint loss and also with small area of lifting (1 x 1/16 in.) at upper left edge, and with water staining to back of panel on right side. Provenance: Through the collection of Baron Huschek (according to the label on the reverse).
