French Porcelain and Enameled Bronze Mantel Clock, France, 19th century, modeled as a goat-drawn chariot with cherubs, an enameled wheel as the clock dial inscribed Deniere A Paris, mounted atop an oval base with continuous porcelain panel depicting classical cupids, set on a bronze base rim with leaf, vine, and berries to feet, ht. 14 1/2, lg. 21 in. Very good quality bronze casting with overall good patina. Baton held by standing putti broken and with loss; vertical cracks at nearly indentical spots to porcelain frieze at each end. Left end with two chips. Very slight edge patina wear to bronze throughout figures and base. Right end of base slightly lifting from base. Enamel and porcelain visibly free of chips or cracks or restorations. Works complete but lacking pendulum, unknown running condition.
