Georgian Sheffield Plate Monteith, late 18th/early 19th century, oval, with stylized heart-shaped openwork rim, pendant lion mask handles, base of body based and embossed with flat leaves, on slightly flaring foot, ht. 7, lg. approx. 12 1/4 in. Provenance: S.J. Shrubsole, New York and London. very minor rosing. lion noses pushed in very slightly. a few light usage scratches. small crack (approx. 1/4") at base of one of the the rim curves.
