Engravings on paper, plate sizes to 17 5/8 x 19 1/2 in. (44.8 x 49.5 cm), unframed. Condition: Toning, nicks, tears, and creases to some edges, tack holes, water stains, and foxing. N.B. Toledo is illustrated in Etched in Sunlight, Fifty Years in the Graphic Arts , by Samuel Chamberlain, p. 67. Chamberlain described Decaris, whom he knew in France, as "...one of the greatest engravers of his generation." (1) 1.
