Two Early Bronze Mortar and Pestles, one possibly 12th century, Italy, the first a vase-shaped bowl cast with winged warriors and shields with a bell-shaped pestle with fluted handle, ht. 3; and one with a cup-shaped mortar with side handles, ribbed decoration on the rim, pin-shaped pestle with ceramic base, ht. 4 1/2 in. Note: The first of these is closely related to an example in the Griffin Collection of Antique Mortars & Pestles, Franklin, New Hampshire.
