Robert Farrington Elwell (American, 1874-1962) The Kid Escaping from the Burning McSween House in Lincoln, N. M. Signed "Elwell" l.r., identified on a label from Jeff Dykes/Western Books, College Park, Maryland, on the frame backing paper. Pen and ink on paper/board, image size 7 1/2 x 18 in., framed. Condition: Mild toning, not examined out of frame. Provenance: From the estate of Gerald and Martha Schipper. N.B. The label from Jeff Dykes/Western Books states that the drawing was purchased directly from the artist, and it appeared in Short Stories Magazine August 25th issue, c. 1935.
