Tyrolean Violin, Josef Kloz I, Mittenwald, c. 1780, bearing the maker's label, length of back 358 mm, with case. Button repair, back seam repair, pegbox bushed, small repaired fracture to the top in upper treble bout. Button is slightly undersized due to neck reset. UV scan of varnish shows original surface except for a few repaired areas-center join and upper button, pegbox walls, Ribs are very clean under UV scan. Small hairline fractures at f-hole wings, neck joint and saddle. Small filled worm repairs near upper treble corner of top.
