Sold for:

Victorian Rosewood Cased Upright Piano, John Broadwood & Sons, London, mid-19th century, adjustable candleholders, sheet music rest, faceted circular legs on casters. Note: John Broadwood & Sons were important British piano makers in the late 18th and early 19th century. Interestingly, the Astor family patriarch, John Jacob Astor (1763-1848), worked as an agent for the firm in America after emigrating from London in 1784. Dimensions are ht. 48, wd. 53, dp. 25. The keys are all working but it is terribly out of tune. Overall condition of the case is age typical with minor repairs and defects. Sound board not checked.
