Two Similar Westerwald Stoneware Ewers, late 19th/early 20th century, of circular form, with open centers, the short spout over Bellarmine-type mask on the tapering neck, with ropetwist molded loop handle, bodies molded throughout with flowering vines, and faux armorial roundels, on round, reeded foot, on with underglaze blue decoration, ht. 17 5/8, the other with blue, brown, and green glazing, ht. 17 7/8 in. blue only: losses to the lower third of the armorial, and to the center left edge. two small chips to raised floral decoration. blue, brown green: small chip to one of the raised flowers.
