DeWitt McClellan Lockman (American, 1870-1957) Portrait of Miss Naomi Andrews, Age 12, and her Spaniel Signed and dated "DeWitt M. Lockman/07" l.r. Oil on canvas, 40 3/4 x 34 in. (103.5 x 86.4 cm), framed. Condition: Lined, scattered retouch, craquelure. Provenance: Descended within the family of the sitter. N.B. Naomi Andrews (1894-1987) was the daughter of architect Samuel Wakeman Andrews (1866-1935) and Harriet Hammond. Inscribed "Mr. Andrews Sherwood" in pencil on the stretcher, retouch to craquelure in l.r. quadrant, primarily to the right of the spaniel.
