Thomas Corwin Lindsay (American, 1839-1907) The Storm, Saracca Valley, Pennsylvania Monogrammed "TCL" l. r., identified on a presentation plaque and on an invoice from The Traxel Art Company, Cincinnati, dated 1927, affixed to the stretcher. Oil on canvas, 24 7/8 x 30 in. (63.1 x 76.2 cm), framed. Condition: Craquelure, surface grime. The painting is inscribed in chalk "Miss Mc Guire" on the reverse. The presentation plaque gives the location of the scene as "Saracca Valley, PA."
