Manuel de la Rosa (Spanish, 1860-1924) Dove and Flowers Signed "M. de la Rosa" l.r., with a label from Schumann's Sons, New York, on the frame backing. Oil on panel, 30 3/8 x 17 in. (77.3 x 43.2 cm), framed. Condition: Frame abrasions, light surface grime. Pigment fluorescence in the blossoms does not appear to be retouch. Surface grime in the form of some dripped liquid mainly upper right quadrant. Minor paint losses and abrasions from frame liner. Painting is on a beveled wood panel, inscribed verso "3091/Schuman [sic] Sons" and "Schulman [sic]" in pencil. The printed label on the backing paper reads, "SCHUMANN'S SONS,/716 Fifth Ave. & 2 West 56th St.,/New York."
