Hand-hewn Burl Pitcher, eastern United States, early 19th century, Atlantic white cedar vessel with pierced integral handle, (minor old losses), ht. 4 7/8, dia. 14 1/8 in. Some interior and exterior scorching possibly from the making. A wood sample was taken and professionally identified as Atlantic white cedar.
