Carved Gilt and Polychrome-painted Striding Rooster Figure, America, late 19th century, possibly a model for a carousel figure, with delineated eyes, beak, and feathers, mounted on a molded walnut base, (imperfections), overall ht. 14 1/2, wd. 7, lg. 18 in. The upper thigh of each leg has a horizontal crack, and shows evidence of earlier gluing.
