(Matisse, Henri (1869-1954)), German pamphlet promoting the 1947 Verlages Teriade publication of Jazz , the pamphlet published by Gerd Hatje, [1948], inscribed in interior of front wrap by the author of the foreword, Kurt Martin, and dated 1948, containing title page, five pages of Matisse quotations, one-page foreword by Martin, one-page extract of text from Jazz , one-page list of plates contained in the original book and Matisse's bibliography, and two double colored letterpress plates after Matisse's L'enterrement de Pierrot (pl. 10) and Le Lanceur de Couteaux (pl. 15), original paper wraps, 4to, (good, with minor light toning).
