Green-painted Tin Lantern with Painted "OYSTERS" Advertising, America, late 19th century, rectangular lantern with arched vent, wire bail with green-painted hardwood handle, with glass panels on two sides and hinged door, two panels with painted inscriptions: "OYSTERS OPENED TO ORDER," and "OYSTERS 10 [cents] PLATE," the interior fitted with a glass font with brass kerosene burner and mercury glass reflector, (minor paint loss), ht. with handle 20 in. Minor paint losses to lantern frame, a few minor spots of paint missing on lettering.
