Forging Machine Patent Model by E. Wheeler, patented September 1, 1857, with painted cast iron frame, copper wheel work and steel forging components together with a patent tag stating "Model Taken From the Debris of the fire of Sept. 24, 1877" and in pencil "Horseshoe Bars Making' and on the reverse, "18.115--E. Wheeler Forging Machine Patented September 1st 1857", ht. 12 1/2 in. Model is restored; repainted and all components cleaned and polished.
