Collection of Vue D'Optique Cards, c. 1880, comprising approximately thirty-six mounted views in ht. 12 1/2, wd. 16 1/4 in. wooden, canvas-backed slides and approximately thirty unframed views, largely exterior views of Italian cities, many of Venice, some interior views of palaces and approximately ten with tiny pinholes to project light on a hidden three-dimensional element of the scene, all in a hinged mahogany box with carrying handles, Views appear to be in good condition, loose views with some bent corners, framed views all with canvas backing intact, lacking one handle on carrying box.
