Mahogany Beehive Clock by E. C. Brewster, Bristol, Connecticut, c. 1840, No. 4644, 7-inch dia. painted wooden dial with viewing port, Roman numerals, etched glass tablet of a basket of flowers, green paper dust cover on backboard, eight-day rack and snail strike movement stamped No. 4644 with detached brass fusees in an iron housing at the bottom of the case, Geneva stops and recoil escapement, ht. 19 in. Literature: Thomas Grimshaw, "Fusee Beehive Clock-Please Identify Yourself", NAWCC Bulletin , August 1980. Original finish, dial, glass, movement, pendulum, hands, pendulum and dust cover are original and undisturbed, movement retains all original Geneva stop components, case could be rubbed out to remove imperfections.
