Two Norton Stoneware Jugs with Cobalt Bird and Flower, Bennington, Vermont, early to mid-19th century, a two-gallon ovoid jug with single blossom decoration, impressed "BENNINGTON/J. NORTON & SON" on shoulder, (mouth and handle chips); and a straight-sided two-gallon jug with impressed maker's mark "J. NORTON & Co./BENNINGTON VT." on shoulder, ornamented with a bird perched on a branch, ht. 13 1/2, 13 3/4 in., respectively. ovoid jug- shallow rim chips on mouth of possibly in the making, 1/2 in. chip on lower handle,1 x 1/2 in. base edge chip and a couple small base edge chips. Straight -sided jug- good condition.
